Yesterday, the Prime Minister and EU President came to an agreement to replace the original Northern Ireland Protocol and announced the new Windsor Framework.
This issue has been extremely sensitive, not only politically but also for businesses, families, and the people of Northern Ireland.
I therefore sought assurances from the Prime Minister that this new agreement would be given adequate time for all colleagues across the Houses of Parliament to be effectively scrutinised, to ensure lasting and practical change for the United Kingdom.
As I said in my speech, this deal is complex, and it is right that space is given for review.
