Watford MP Dean Russell requested to meet with staff from London Northwestern Railway having been contacted by a number of local residents in recent weeks regarding poor service.
The most common complaint has been regarding peak time trains turning up with just four carriages, therefore leaving people on the platform, and often having to make alternative travel arrangements at very short notice.
Speaking after the meeting Dean said “Watford and Bushey commuters pay a lot of money for the service into Euston, so it was disappointing to learn that some have repeatedly been left on the platform as the trains were too full for them to board. People are turning up late to work through no fault of their own, and this is why I wanted to meet with London Northwestern Railway to see what action they are taking to resolve this.
I was pleased to learn that Bushey will soon see 4 trains an hour between 7-8am, and new stock coming in the summer, and I am grateful to them for agreeing to meet with me.”
Vicky Cropper-Clarke, head of stakeholder and community for London Northwestern Railway, said: “Listening to feedback from our customers is important to us and we were pleased to update Dean on some of the service improvements we have planned for our customers at Bushey in coming months.
We recognise some peak-time services from Bushey have been very busy recently which is why we are taking action to introduce more services at the next available opportunity in May.
Running a service our customers can rely on is our top priority and ongoing constructive dialogue with Dean, local stakeholders and our passengers at Bushey helps us make sure we are delivering on that promise.”
