Dean Russell recently met with three hospitality team member apprentices called Adriana, Francine and Stefany to talk about their work at Gather & Gather (part of CH&CO, a hospitality and catering business). Their line manager, Milena, spoke about their brilliant progress on the Umbrella Training brilliant progress on the Umbrella Training apprenticeship programme, specially designed for the hospitality sector.
Dean enjoyed spending time learning about the programme and their experiences. The apprentices were very enthusiastic and were very supportive of their employer. They had a relaxed discussion about the opportunities to develop within the company, where they are empowered and encouraged to grow.
Following the visit, Dean said, ‘I was so pleased to be invited to visit, and to speak to the apprentices who visited Parliament recently. I was so impressed to learn about the prospects for development within the company and that the three apprentices are looking forward to taking on supervisory responsibilities in the near future. This really shows how important apprenticeships are, and how companies invest and nurture young talent. Through apprenticeships and ongoing support, companies are not just building a workforce; they are shaping the future leaders’.
