Dean paid another visit to the Watford Women’s Centre, this time to meet withnew CEO Lucy to discuss the key services Watford Women’s Centre Plus offersuch as Training, Domestic Abuse support, and Counselling services. They discussed the importance of raising awareness and ensuring that women in Watford and the surrounding areas have access to the support they need.
The Education and Training opportunities play an important role in empowering women to build good futures for themselves. From vocational training to personal development workshops, the Centre provides women with the tools and skills they need to achieve financial independence and pursue careers.
During the visit, Dean and Lucy discussed the importance of providing support to survivors of domestic abuse, including safe housing, counselling and legal advocacy.
Mental health challenges often go hand in hand with experiences of trauma and abuse. The counselling services offer a lifeline to women struggling with their mental health. The sessions provide a safe and supportive environment where the women can get the support they need.
Following the visit Dean said, ‘I would like to thank Lucy and the team for their time. It was really useful to learn more about the essential services they offer to women in Watford. I would urge anyone needing support to contact them as they offer a large range of services which can really help women re-build their lives’.
