Watford MP Dean Russell visited the Sun Sports Club, which is located on Bellmount Wood Avenue. It is situated in 22 acres of private land and serves as a community hub that is open to families, friends and sports enthusiasts to meet and enjoy a range of activities together. It is also a great venue for various functions and private events.
The Club is dedicated to grassroots football, with over 30 teams using it as their home ground for weekly training sessions and matches. It supports youth teams, deaf teams, and adult teams and welcomes players of all ages and abilities. They are also proud to host the Hertfordshire Cheetahs, an American Football team.
Dean met with Lisa, Frank Woolner, and FA representative Steve Maker to discuss the current and future plans for the Club, as well as the important role that it plays in the town.
Following his visit, Dean said, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Sun Sports Club and was impressed by the fantastic facilities it offers. It's a wonderful asset for Watford, and I look forward to keeping in touch with the staff team here to see their plans progress’.
