People of all ages were invited to support Watford MENCAP as its popular annual race returned to Cassiobury Park.
The Watford 10k and the 1k Fun Run were open to runners of all ages and fitness levels, and participants were encouraged to raise awareness and funds for Watford Mencap, a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and their loved ones who help to care for them.
There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category, and all runners received a bespoke event medal. This year’s course was designed to enable runners to enjoy the bluebells in the woods in Cassiobury Park.
MP Dean Russell started both races and presented prizes with The Mayor and commented that “Not only is the Watford 10K event a great way to bring the community together, but it also raises vital funds that help MENCAP provide invaluable support to those with learning disabilities in the South-West Hertfordshire area. As always it was a brilliant event, for both spectators and the hundreds of participants, who were in fantastic spirits."
