Local MP Dean Russell joined pupils from Nascot Wood Primary School for a Q+A after they were given a tour of Parliament.
Pupils were given a tour of the Palace of Westminster, which includes Westminster Hall (the ancient hall at the heart of the Palace,) The House of Commons with its famous green benches and the 'lobbies' where MPs vote. One of the highlights was The House of Lords, which is home to the globally recognised Royal Throne. Along the route, the pupils were told the importance of each room, as well as the history of each part of the Palace.
Dean Russell said “It was great to welcome Nascot Wood to Parliament and for the pupils to see the inside of Parliament. I hope they enjoyed the tour and found it informative. It is a fascinating place to work, and I am really keen that as many people as possible get to see it for themselves.”
