A one minute silence was held across the UK at 11am to mark one year since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Rishi Sunak lead the country in the moment of solidarity “with our Ukrainian friends” to pay tribute to their courage at 11am.
The prime minister said: “As we mark one year since a full-scale war broke out on our continent, I urge everyone to reflect on the courage and bravery of our Ukrainian friends who, every hour since, have fought heroically for their country.
Dean Russell said “I am proud that the UK has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine through this horrific conflict.
I was honoured to take part in the minute's silence in the House of Commons at 11am today to mark the one year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, paying tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people as we stand in solidarity with their fight for freedom.
My thoughts continue to be with Ukraine and all those affected by the conflict who have shown incredible bravery and resilience."
