I was truly honoured to be invited with a small group of leaders in mental health to attend a special screening of ‘The Son’ introduced in person by director Florian Zeller & actor Hugh Jackman last night.
The film explores important themes around mental health as it followed the struggles of a divorced couple dealing with their teenage son’s mental-health crisis.
Starring an incredible cast including Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrath and Anthony Hopkins, the film was one of the most moving, powerful and well-acted explorations of mental health I have ever seen. I truly hope it goes on to win industry awards for the very human performances across all aspects of the film, which did not shy away from the complexities of mental health on young people and families.
Thanks to Think-Film Impact Production for inviting me following my campaigning work in mental health and to all the fellow attendees for the work they do in the field of mental health.
