Step2Skills, the Adult Community Learning and Employment Support service from Hertfordshire County Council, continues to make a positive impact on the lives of residents facing barriers to learning and employment. With a mission to provide tailored upskilling opportunities and comprehensive employment support, Step2Skills reaches out to Hertfordshire residents and offers interventions throughout the county, working in collaboration with partner organisations and funded by various government-funded community projects.

Step2Skills believes in empowering individuals by equipping them with essential skills and support necessary to thrive in the workforce. From improving literacy and numeracy through English and maths courses to enhancing employability skills, digital literacy, and overall health and well-being, the organisation offers a wide range of upskilling opportunities tailored to meet the diverse needs of its learners. Additionally, Step2Skills provides crucial personalised employment support to adults facing more complex barriers, ensuring they have the best chance of gaining sustainable employment.

Dean visited the Step2Skills Inclusive Employment Job Fair in February, has expressed his support and recognition for the valuable service they provide. During a House of Commons debate on Flexible Working policies, he acknowledged and mentioned Step2Skills, shedding light on their role in promoting inclusive employment practices.

Dean commented, "I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have visited the Step2Skills Inclusive Employment Job Fair and saw first-hand the impact they are making in our community. It is crucial that we support organisations like Step2Skills who are dedicated to upskilling individuals and breaking down barriers to employment.

Thank you also for the opportunity for me to take part in one of your courses which are running locally in Watford. It provided me with a really valuable insight into the impact of Step2Skills' within the local community and allowed me to engage with learners from diverse backgrounds and hear their experiences first-hand’.
