I was pleased to speak to the Chairman of the Meriden Residents Association this weekend and also had a subsequent meeting with the Secretary Bhavika. I would like to thank Bhavika for taking me to the new shopping area and to Abbey View where the fire sadly took place.

I was pleased to meet with a number of the Abbey View tenants and listened to their accounts of what they had experienced during the event.

My team and I will be looking into the issues raised, and will keep in touch with the Residents Association and local residents.

I would like to put on record my sincere thanks and appreciation to the agencies who moved so swiftly to deal with the problems as a priority.
