Watford MP Dean Russell marked Armed Forces Day in Watford, attending a musical celebration organised by Luther Blissett OBE DL, at the memorial area by Watford Town Hall.
Taking place on the last Saturday each June, Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Speaking after the event Dean Russell said “Our troops are deployed across the world promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security, and fighting terrorism so it was really important for me to celebrate Armed Forces Day. Whether you are at stationed here in the UK or overseas, thank you for your dedication and hard work.
"It also provides an opportunity to thank our veterans – many of whom made huge sacrifices whilst they were serving, and it is important that we remember this.”
