Dean Russell visited both ‘The Women’s Lawyer’ and Raphael Law Solicitors as part of a series of launch events as Camilla and Nadia open their new family law practice on Station Road in Watford.
The Women’s Lawyer was founded by Camilla Khawaja, Counsel. Her aim is to assist women with an affordable and approachable service with a primary focus on divorce and relationship breakdown.
Camilla and Nadia have both done extensive work for the Watford Women’s Centre, and in 2011, Camilla also set up a legal charity in Tesco Extra Watford to enable people to receive accessible legal advice whilst doing their weekly shop.
During his visit, Dean was given a tour of their offices and spoke to the staff there about their important work and the need to do more to raise awareness about the legal assistance that is available to victims of domestic abuse.
After attending this event, Dean said: “It was great to visit Camilla and Nadia’s respective practices today as they prepare to open this new family law firm in Watford, it is unique in that the practice has both counsel and a solicitors in house. The legal work that they do to support families during their time of need is so important and I know that the services they will provide will make them a vital asset in our town.”
Camilla Khawaja, the founder of ‘The Women’s Lawyer’ also commented: I am most grateful to Dean for his support of our practice, education and awareness is key and to this end we shall collaborate alongside our MP to bring about much needed change in our hometown of Watford.”
