The Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust hosted a Gala Dinner at Vicarage Road celebrating 30 years of the Trust, and the first ever Trust Champion Awards honouring amazing local people who have benefitted and supported the Trust and their programmes. Winners have been nominated and selected by members of Trust staff who have seen first-hand the difference they have made.
MP Dean Russell was invited to attend to celebrate those receiving awards, with the awards sponsored by local businesses such as Warner Bros and Metro printing. A silent auction offered guests the chance to bid on unique experiences and Watford FC memorabilia and raised more than £8,500.
Michael Kurn hosted the event with stars including Luther Blissett OBE DL, Kenny Jackett, Nigel Gibbs, Steve Palmer, Alec Chamberlain and Richard Johnson watching on. Adding to the Golden Boys buzz were current players Daniel Bachmann, Christian Kabasele and club captain Tom Cleverley.
Speaking after the dinner Dean said that “it was a pleasure to attend this Gala Dinner celebrating the work of the Trust and those who have supported their fantastic work. Well done to all of the winnners.”
