The Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce hosted the launch of the SME Hertfordshire Business Awards 2023 at the Chamber Hub on Queen’s Road, which local MP Dean Russell was invited to attend to chat to businesses about their work and what winning an award would mean for them.
The launch offered business owners and employees a chance to find out more about how they can become an award-winning business. Awards such as these not only offer a chance to recognise the hard work of SME’s but also gives a business exposure and credibility, helping them to grow and expand. Some of the categories include Apprentice of the Year, Best New Business and Employer of the Year.
The Awards ceremony, which is now in its sixth year, will take place in September and will be a Black-Tie event with business from across the region in attendance.
CEO Chris Luff commented that “Employers and employees find it valuable to get recognised for the hard work they do, especially in a time when business isn’t easy coming out of the pandemic. Winning an award can showcase a company’s excellence and let potential customers know they’re a quality business. But it’s not just about winning, the application process itself encourages businesses to look inwards and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, whilst the SME community is a great way to learn from other businesses.”
Dean Russell MP said “It was great to see so many businesses coming to learn how they can make their application stand out from the crowd and thank you to Watford Chamber of Commerce for supporting local SME’s all year round. It was a pleasure to chat to some business owners and their employees and I wish them all the very best of luck.”
