Conservative Party Chairman, The Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, visited the Wenta business centre in Watford to meet with local businesses alongside local MP Dean Russell.
Wenta is a social enterprise that provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for business support. They can help with everything from start-up advice, mentoring and training to workspace, meeting rooms and virtual offices.
Greg Hands MP visited a number of businesses which included Conrad Foods Ltd and trained psychotherapist Renie Price. There was also a meeting with Ed Jordan, the Chief Executive at Wenta, who has responsibility for spearheading the organisation and strategic direction.
Following the visit, Dean said “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and Wenta has been at the start of the success story for many local businesses. The government is committed to supporting SMEs and businesses and wants to encourage people to start and grow a business in the UK.
In the Autumn, the Government announced that it is expanding the small business threshold from 250 to 500 employees, cutting costs for nearly 40,000 businesses and delivering supply-side reforms which will help businesses and the economy grow. This will cut costs for British businesses, saving them time and resources which are be better spent on growth and investment–delivering high skill, high wage jobs.”
