Watford Taxi Driver Zaheer Ahmed recognised at The Taxi Awards in Parliament

Congratulations to Zaheer Ahmed for being a winner at the annual Parliamentary Taxi & Private Hire Awards! I nominated Zaheer for his outstanding contribution to the community.

As chairman of the Watford Hackney Carriage Drivers Association, he has worked hard to improve working conditions for Watford taxi drivers and promote safety measures for their passenger and truly embodies the values that the Taxi Awards aim to celebrate.

In my meeting with Zaheer and a small group of Watford taxi representatives we also discussed local taxi issues and opportunities including the successful campaign to save Pryzm nightclub to help the local night-time economy.

I look forward to following up on these discussions in the coming weeks.
