Dean Russell MP has written today to the Chief Executive of Arriva asking for a briefing on the significant changes to the bus services in Watford. The changes are due to be implemented on the 10th November 2023.
Dean says that a number of the changes will have a significant impact on the residents of Watford, and there are some unconfirmed replacements.
The cancellation of the 508 Hemel Hempstead to Mount Vernon Hospital and the 9 Watford town centre to Leavesden Park services is of real concern. It is crucial to ensure that residents are well-informed about these changes and that alternative options are readily available for people relying on the service to get to work, school, medical appointments and for pleasure purposes.
Dean has held local engagement sessions with constituents and Arriva officials in Watford to discuss concerns. Dean continues to receive correspondence from constituents regarding concerns relating to bus services.
Following the briefing, Dean will post an update.
Here's the letter -
Dear Mr Cooper,
RE: Significant Changes to Bus Services in Watford
I am writing on behalf of my constituents in Watford who have recently brought to my attention the significant changes to bus services in our area, particularly those to be implemented on the 10th November 2023. Some of these changes will have a significant impact on the residents of Watford as there are some unconfirmed replacements.
I was disappointed to learn of these significant changes from constituents and the press, and would be grateful if you could provide me with a detailed briefing, and also keep me appraised of any changes in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Yours sincerely
