As the snow settles across the UK, I was pleased to hear from the British Gas Energy Trust who provide advice and support services to all energy consumers, including £6 million in grants and fuel vouchers.
Regardless of who your energy supplier is, I encourage all households to speak to your energy supplier to find out if you are eligible to access support from organisations like the British Gas Energy Trust.
Wider still, I am pleased the Government has increased the cost-of-living support package to a total of £49 billion, to include:
⚡The Energy Price Guarantee ensures households will save an average of £500.
📉 The Energy Bill Discount removes £400 off energy bills for all households.
🤗£150 cash rebate for homes in Council Tax bands A-D (80% of households).
🏠Extra one-off payments of £900 for 8 million households on means tested benefits;
👩£300 for pensioners in receipt of Winter Fuel Payment.
🧑🤝🧑£150 for disability benefit recipients.
🏡Warm Home Discount providing £150 off your electricity bill for winter.
❄️Cold Weather Payments of £25 for each 7-day period of very cold weather until 31st March.
🫂£1 billion for the Household Support Fund.
