Dean Russell attended a 7-A-Side Football Tournament and Family Fun Day at Watford FC’s Training Dome to raise money for the wonderful Josh Hanson Trust.
The Josh Hanson Trust was founded by Josh’s family after he tragically lost his life in an unprovoked knife attack in 2015 at the age of 21. His family created the organisation with the aim of: raising awareness among young people of the effects of violent crime, delivering practical support to families who have lost loved ones to violent crime, and working with public sector organisations to prevent more young people from becoming victims of violent crime in the future.
The day was full of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The main event was The Josh Hanson Trust 5th Memorial Cup, which is an annual 7-A-Side football tournament where fifteen teams competed to win the competition that was created in Josh’s memory. There were also raffles, face painting, penalty shootouts and lots more for everyone to enjoy while raising money for this great cause.
After attending the event, Dean said: “I am so pleased to have been able to attend this great fundraiser and see the amazing work that Josh’s family are doing in his memory. It was a great day full of activities for families to enjoy and I would like to thank Watford Football Club for allowing their training ground to be used for this event.”
