Watford MP Dean Russell joined the local community at Holy Rood Catholic Church on Exchange Road for a performance of the Mozart requiem.
Gerry O'Beirne directed the Croxley Green Community Choir, as well as soloists and a small orchestra. Proceeds will be shared between the Watford Peace Hospice and the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The Watford Peace Hospice support people at the end of their life, but the vast majority of their work is about empowering patients to achieve the best quality of life possible. The St Vincent de Paul Society is part of an international Christian voluntary network dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.
Dean Russell said "It was an incredible event in a beautiful church. The church was built by J.F. Bentley over twelve years and has been at the heart of Watford since 1900.
"I am delighted that I was invited to attend. Not only was the music spectacular, but it also raised vital funds for two incredibly important organisations. All of the musicians put on a wonderful performance which the entire audience thoroughly enjoyed."
