Watford MP Dean Russell attended the South Asian Heritage Conference, which had been organised by Watford based charity One Vision.
The event was billed as “a great platform to get to know the community and understand their culture. South Asian Heritage have been living in UK for generations and have kept their culture, religion and belief closer to their heart.”
The South Asian Heritage Association (SAHA) has been launched to help the community navigate UK national bodies, such as the NHS and the police, and is under the umbrella of One Vision, a charity that Dean Russell as been heavily involved in since its inception.
Under SAHA, people will be able to seek advice on how to navigate organisations, such as the NHS, the police, and councils.
Dean Russell said: “The recent census shows that there is an increasingly diverse community in Watford, which is something we should welcome. I wholeheartedly welcome the creation of SAHA and look forward to working closely with them.”
