Dean Russell hosted a Reception for ASOS in the Houses of Parliament to give them the opportunity to explain their new ‘Fashion With Integrity strategy’ to MPs and peers.
ASOS has set out new ambitious goals that they aim to achieve by 2030 which focus on four areas: carbon emissions, circulatory, human rights, and diversity. The company has pledged to be net zero across their value chain by 2030, ensure that 100% of ASOS own-branded products and packaging will be made from recycled or sustainable materials by 2030, publish detailed human rights strategy reports annually by 2030 and ensure that every leadership level in their company will have at least 50% female and over 15% ethnic minority representation by 2030.
During the event, Dean made a speech welcoming everyone to the event and commending the important steps that ASOS have outlined. He was also joined by the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Minister, Paul Scully, who also said a few words.
After hosting the event, Dean said: “It was great to host this event and to have the opportunity to learn more about the important work that ASOS are doing to make their business more environmentally friendly, diverse and inclusive. As a local employer with offices based in Leavesden I was delighted to hear about their plans for this decade.”
