I popped down to see Mark and the Everett Rovers Football Club yesterday to see their brilliant inclusive football training in action. Watch the video to find out more.
If you don’t know already, Everett Rovers FC Inclusive football squad is for boys and girls with disabilities or additional needs. They are one of the largest inclusive teams in Hertfordshire currently supporting 50+ players. They are a pan-disability team and support anyone that is unable to play mainstream football. They have players with Down's syndrome, autism, ADHD, Aspergers, learning difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, partially sighted to name just a few. Their youth team caters for boys and girls ranging in age from 7 to 19 (and they have an adult squad as well).
I met with parents who have been taking their kids to the inclusive football at Everett Rovers for many years and several who had attended for the first time yesterday. Every parent I spoke to could not have praised the team more, with many saying that coming to train and play was a highlight of many of the players week.
Mark and the team do amazing work with the players and parents, but are also keen to encourage new inclusive teams to set-up elsewhere to help grow the opportunities to grow inclusive football everywhere. So please do check out the link below to find out more.
