Dean Russell, the Member of Parliament for Watford, proudly presented to the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak the winning design for his Annual Schools Christmas Card Competition.
Dean met with the Prime Minister directly to share the Christmas card, designed by Samanta from Holywell Primary School, Watford, as they discussed all things Christmassy with the upcoming festivities. Samanta created a stunning eye-catching and creative design with direct reference to Watford.
The competition was launched in November and was open to every Primary School in Watford. A number of schools submitted designs. It was very hard to choose an overall winner as the standards and innovative designs were fantastic.
Dean said, "I chose this hand drawn card as it has a strong reference to Watford, and was bold, colourful and very striking. I am very grateful to all students who entered and the schools who supported the competition, it was wonderful to receive so many Christmas card designs.
"The standard was so high, and I think we will see a future of many budding artists in our town. The winning entry will now be used as my official Christmas card which I will send to individuals and organisations across Watford and to my colleagues in Parliament. Thank you to everyone who took part."
