Dean recently met with Carpenders Park Councillors Sakhana Uthayakumar, Ian Morris, Rue Grewal and Hrithik Dattani in Parliament to discuss local matters. The meeting focused on addressing concerns relating to accessibility and safety at Bushey Station, the impact of ULEZ on constituents, and the preservation of the green belt.
One of the significant topics discussed during the meeting was the need to improve accessibility and safety at Bushey Station. Proposals included the installation of step free access, improved lighting and enhanced security measures.
Another important issue that was discussed during the meeting was the impact ULEZ would have on Watford constituents. Even though this will not encroach into Watford, many residents and businesses travel into London for work, childcare and day to day life. Dean has repeatedly raised his opposition in Parliament.
Preserving the Green Belt in and around Carpenders Park is essential. Over the years, we have seen marches where people have protested against housing plans which they felt could destroy their community. Dean supports the residents’ and thanked the Councillors for their pro active work with residents.
Following the meeting, the Councillors went on a tour of Parliament and also spent time in the public gallery.
Following the meeting, Dean said, ‘Local Councillors dedicate so much time and energy in tackling the challenges we face at a grassroots level. Their valuable work in addressing local concerns, fostering community engagement and representing views really help to improve our neighbourhoods. I’m looking forward to working on the issues we discussed to see what improvements can be made to help Watford residents’.
