Watford Girls School recently welcomed Dean Russell MP and Reverend Rindl as they undertook a litter pick with the pupils.
Dean Russell previously launched his ‘Green Team’ initiative where students from various schools across Watford collaborate and raise issues which are important to them, their families and communities. Watford Girls have played a key role in The Green Team.
Dean was thrilled with the support the students gave towards the initiative and was happy to see the enthusiasm shown by the pupils. The pupils worked together to clean up the school's surroundings and discussed the importance of protecting the environment.
The MP spoke about the need for these kinds of initiatives, explaining, "It is wonderful to see the young generation take an active role in protecting and preserving the environment. Initiatives like the Green Team can go a long way in promoting sustainable solutions, and I am proud to support this".
Reverend Rindl was also enthusiastic about the initiative.
Sian Andrews from Watford Girls School added, "We are lucky here at WGGS to have such an enthusiastic eco-committee who are hugely committed to developing sustainability".
The event was a great success, and it demonstrated the positive impact of community engagement and collaboration in protecting the environment. The Green Team initiative is an excellent opportunity for students to come together and raise awareness about green issues.
