In January 2022, I was pleased to hold my first virtual 'Dean's Green Team' which gave young people the opportunity to discuss important issues which matter to them on the Green Agenda. Inspired by the COP26 Climate Conference in Glasgow, I wanted to provide chances for young people to meet and for me to take their suggestions forward in Parliament.
Students from across Watford joined me on the call, and we continued to meet both online, and more recently in Parliament. The key issues related to reusing clothes, recycling as much as we can and also tackling litter.
Cameron Gravestock-Magee played a key role in the meeting and stated, 'It was great to join Dean for the first meeting of his Green Team. I believe that this project is an important step to making our local area greener, and the discussions we had today were a great way to get things in motion'.
I hope over the months ahead we can find solutions to the important issues which were raised. I am in regular contact with local High Schools about the latest plans and look forward to the next meeting.
